The exit for Care and Counseling is the Ladue Road Exit - 1st one north of I-64 &
I-270 interchange.

Care and Counseling is just west of I-270 on Ladue Road. Look for the first entrance past the group of 2 stop lights. We are the red brick building that sits off the road. The parking lot is behind the building. Enter through the main entrace. You may go to the window in the lobby. If you have an appointment, please go to waiting room B on the second floor.

If you get directions off mapquest, please be aware that there is construction on Main street between the fountain and the Care and Counseling office. You will need to make adjustments either to the north or south based on the direction you are coming from.


When you get to East Main, please look for the Belleville Union United Methodist Church. You will park in the small parking lot in front of the church. Enter the door closest to the Care and Counseling Sign. There is a waiting room by this entrance.

History and Mission of Care and Counseling

Care and Counseling offers high quality psychotherapy and spiritual haling for individuals and families seeking help in times of difficulty. Through psychotherapy, people can grow in their ability to solve problems, communicate with others, and cope with life's pain, disappointments and surprises.


Care and Counseling has served the Illinois and Missouri Area for 40 years and is affiliated with more than 100 area congregations and communities of faith. The staff of Care and Counseling serves at more than 10 locations throughout the area.


Care and Counseling staff members hold masters or doctoral degrees and are licensed as psychologists, clinical social workers, professional counselors, certified pastoral counselors, marital and family therapists, and /or other professional therapists. A number of outstanding psychiatrists and psychoanalysts serve on our staff as consultants and supervisors.


Care and Counseling is accredited by the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and the Samaritan Institute, a nationwide network of counseling centers.

Cost: $75 per couple: Includes lunch and cost of Materials

Hosted by Christ United Methodist Church Fairview Heights Illinois


Presentations by Steve Heitkamp and Mentor Couples of the area.

Goal: To Strengthen Strong Marriages and Provide Healing to All - Workshop for Couples at Varied Levels of the Relationship. - Newly Married, Married for Years, or Divorced and Remarried.

Themes Covered Include: History not Mystery in the Marriage, The Faith or faiths that brought us together, Oneness and Separateness, Growing Intimacy and Closeness, Improving the Ways that we Disagree, Lighting Connections as Good and not so Good, Mentors to our Marriage, Our Marriage as an Example to our Children and Others.

Premarital Experience

One day Pre-Marital Workshops serving the Metro East Area. Groups will meet at the Belleville Office of Care and Counseling. 721 East Main - Belleville, Ill 62220

Choose one of the following Saturday dates:
May 3, 2008, 9a.m. - 12 p.m.
August 23, 2008, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
May 2, 2009, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
August 22, 2009 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Cost $100 per couple.

Includes: 1/2 - 1 hour individual couple session prior to workshop. The individual time is to identify key themes which you would like to focus.

3 hour group session on one of the above Saturday dates.
Themes covered are Family of Origin, Finances, Faith Traditions, Intimacy, Conflict Resolution, Children, Mental Health Themes, Phase of Life Transitions, Loss, Individual and Couple Identity, Making Decisions, etc.

The workshop does not involve much group interaction. Most of the time is to facilitate and encourage private couple discussion on a variety of themes.

Couples or individuals may schedule additional follow up session(s) if more time is needed or desired. Couple would use the fee scale based on income or their insurance for the additional sessions.
